I purchased this for a friend after owning and using the wool puddle pads (same thing just smaller than the crib protector). I wish I had gone with the Shepherd's dream mattress protector over the ones I purchased for my child. They stop moisture, you usually don't have to wash them if there is an accident (because the liquid simply doesn't permeate), they aren't overly thick but have a nice weight to them, and they don't have any kind of wool smell to them (common with other wool items). It's great! Highly recommend.
