Spring is giving way to summer, and right around the corner is Father’s Day on Sunday June 18. Here at Shepherd’s Dream, we like to think a bit beyond the box, and when it comes to Father’s Day, the usual ideas can seem a bit limiting, and they’re not for every dad or father figure.
All month long, we’ve been exploring the many ways we can invite more mindfulness into our daily lives. First, we explored mindful eating, then we celebrated all things mother with our Mindful Mother’s Day post.
It’s May! And for the whole month, Shepherd’s Dream is taking a deep breath and focusing on…well…all the things that are happening on a daily basis that form the foundation of our lives
We’re fully in the throes of Spring, and if all the chirping birds and blooming flowers remind you of itchy, watery eyes and a stuffy nose, then we’ve got some good news for you. While we can’t do much about the tree and grass pollen outside, allergy sufferers can find great relief with some thoughtful bedroom upgrades.
Caffeine is ubiquitous and even celebrated in our culture—from the usual coffee and tea, to soda and energy drinks like Red Bull—but it does not come without its side effects. In addition to causing uncomfortable jitters, it may also be the reason many people have a hard time getting great sleep.
The days are growing longer as we move toward the Spring Equinox and the clock just sprung forward for most of us in the US, causing us to lose an hour of precious sleep. Monday March 13th is National Napping Day (no doubt to help us catch up that lost hour), and Friday March 17th is World Sleep Day. So it makes perfect sense that March is National Sleep Awareness Month.
