Had way too few ties. Loosely held together. I’ve bought quite a few items from this company and usually love their products. But this Summer Weight Comforter was a disappointment. Have given it to my pug for cozy nighttime. My pug has expensive tastes and he loves it.
I sleep hot, but it's not because my room is hot. When I wake up and I'm warm, shuffling the summer weight wool comforter around will release the heat quickly. I never wake up sweaty anymore. I assume the benefits largely come down to organic fibers being more breathable than polyester (or down feathers). I bought a customized-dimensions linen duvet cover on Etsy from the Baltic states region to protect this product, and to preserve the superior breathability of organic fibers for my sleep solution. I like the added heft, too. The summer weight wool comforter has corner loops for duvet cover ties, which is nice.
I'm sorry to say it, Shepherd's Dream, but your pictures did not make me confident to buy. I could see that it seems to be tufted (regularly spaced nodes connect the cotton top and bottom layers of the comforter like a fancy mattress) rather than sectioned-off like a quilt, though I have no idea which solution is less likely to clump up over the years. What I couldn't see was how much thicker it was than, say, a kitchen towel. I wanted something with a little loft and volume so if I fold it over to prop up my shoulder or something it holds up, and I'm glad that's the case, but it's not something I can see when viewing the item rolled up or laid flat on a mattress for an attractive photo. Maybe show a corner folded back and a person's hand (or some object for scale) pushing down on the folded section through two layers of comforter, to show the depth they're compressing it from baseline.
I'm pretty jaded if you couldn't tell. I was pleasantly surprised that a place with so much eco branding actually shipped with the item tied up by scrap fabric and with paper and cardboard and absolutely no single-use plastic or other ties. Making a good (high quality) product and shipping it in a good (responsible) way.
I had a hard time believing a wool comforter would keep me cool and stop my on again off again cover tossing. The explanation of how sheep regulate their temperature seemed far fetched yet here I am positively elated with my purchase. I have bought dozens of comforters, blankets, sheets and this is the first in years that actually keeps me cool but adjusts and keeps me comfortably warm. I will add the unpopular opinion to not add a duvet cover. It makes the comforter hot. It seems the wool needs to breathe and even an organic cotton cover blocks it causing me to flip the covers on and off again. I’m hoping to lightly hand clean any soiled areas and air out the comforter every couple of months. Honestly, being able to get good nights of sleep is worth the price even if I have to buy a new comforter every year (which I really don’t expect will be needed). No dogs on the bed and no kids around so things should stay clean. I don’t usually write reviews but this comforter deserves praise!
I never received the order
My daughter describes it like a wonderful cozy soft cloud.
